As to what do Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces have in common...
...it's that they are each considered a water sign. Fire signs are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, respectively. Air signs are Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. And finally earth signs are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. These elements speak to the mental and emotional aspects of the signs personalities. And if counting the signs I just mentioned... ...you would see there are twelve signs in the Zodiac. They each have traits unique to them and they go in order as the wheel shows above beginning with Aries and working itself counter-clockwise until reaching Pisces. This wheel is the astrology wheel and it is divided into twelve "houses" where each sign "resides". Astrology is intricately mathematical and anyone who tries to say is pseudo-science obviously knows nothing about astrology. They may know there are sun signs and maybe even which one they were born under but other from that they have no knowledge about this star gazing system and all it entails. Now, there are some who insist... ...that someone who is born near or within the date or dates a sign changes from one to another on the calendar is "on the cusp" and therefore has the traits of both signs -with one leading more dominantly- yet most traditionalists of "old school" believe otherwise. So why is this? As I mentioned above astrology is intricately mathematical and it certainly is. When creating someone's astrological chart, an astrologer needs the place of birth which is the city/town and state or region and country but he or she also needs the exact time of birth. These numbers are matched to where each planet was in the sky at that very minute, and corresponding to the actual degree it was in the "houses" of the astrology wheel I mentioned above. Some planets are fast moving and others are slower, or very slow, some taking many years. The energetic pull and push of these planets in accordance with the Zodiac sign is "cemented" if you will, to who and what you are and can become. The key word here is "can". We all have free will. But back to the matter of being on the cusp or not. Since a Zodiac sign is adhered to a specific time-frame on the calendar, yet time alters a bit and in accordance to our calendars created by those in our more ancient past, these dates of Zodiac determination do change from year to year or a few years. There is a gathering of a few days each month at the beginning and end of an almost thirty-day cycle where a Zodiac sign's beginning and ending range will or will not land and this depends on what year it was and referencing this date to what is called an Ephemeris (more about that right after this) determines what actual sign you were born under. You see, it's like this... ...since we are energy beings, we "capture" those traits of particular signs and their energetic tendencies. It's imprinted upon and within our very being. Now add to this that one minute in a particular day a sign is in Aries then the very next moment it switches to Taurus. Those energies of the first sign no longer apply. It's similar to that with call waiting on your phone. You are either on one call or the other. The two other people are connected to you but they are not connected to one another. One click and you are speaking to the other person. One flash of a moment in time and the energies are locked into another sign. So where does the cusp actually come into play? It's in those few days where a Zodiac sign can be in one sign or another. Remember that intricate word I keep using? When someone is born "on the cusp" they are born on one of those days where the date changes in any given year. So the astrologer looks at your year of birth in the Ephemeris book to see where the change occurred during that year. The Ephemeris book lists each and every day and hour and minute of many years. It shows what sign was active on which dates and other pertinent information as well. My belief on how I was told by an astrologer back in the 1970-s is with this practice and belief. The "cusp" refers to these days, not to the person.
What do planets have to do with your astrology sign?
Well, each sign is ruled by a planet and each planet will be in one of the houses in your astrology wheel of your chart. Add to that the degrees of signs that are in your chart and the planets as well and in each house they are in play significant roles to your essence, your being, your purpose, personality, outlook, appearance, and much, much, more. It's shows the total you or what you were born with and what you are capable of. Whether you use these gifts is up to you. Free will.
You've seen it, you've heard about it, you've read it.
If you are a particular Zodiac sign you get along best with a few particular signs but not others. It's true, to a point. When you take into consideration that you have your Zodiac or Sun sign, there's also your ascendant sign, your moon sign and all the rest of it that makes up your chart. What sign is your Venus in and what does that even mean? And which house is it in? Which houses are each planet and Zodiac sign in? What degrees are each sign and planet in? What is "squared" and "opposing"? And how do these come into play to learn how you get along with others? Again, it's intricate. If you are interested in learning if you are truly compatible with another person, then having a "compatibility chart" done would be the route to take. Astrologers are grossly underrated. Good ones are worth their fee all day long. Getting along with one another can be tricky at times. Learning some basics about Zodiac signs aka Sun signs or Astrology signs helps a lot. It can help children to be more tolerant and understanding of one another, offering compassion and a helping hand instead of a bullying moment. My Fun Signs astrological activity book for children can help them to learn these differences and have fun while doing it with coloring pages, dot-to-dot, crossword puzzles, and more. I am having it redesigned later this year but you can still order the current version while supplies last at a bargain price. Just send me an email to see if there are copies left. [email protected] Want to learn more about astrology basics? Below is my 15-minute lunchbreak Meeting IKE Series Blog Talk show. It's aired twice a week -on Tuesdays and Thursdays- and alternating weeks on Wednesday evening I air a live 30-minute show with a special guest. I cover all topics of holistic health, the metaphysical realm, and spirituality.
